Our most popular fur types include mink, lynx, chinchilla, fox, sable, and lamb.
Mink is highly coveted for its rich softness, warmth, and durability, making it one of the most popular furs on the market. When properly cared for, a quality mink coat will keep you warm and maintain its lush softness throughout many winters. Our mink is sourced from Saga Furs in Finland, an auction house specializing in the highest quality pelts. Each piece comes from well-nourished and humanely treated animals, resulting in the finest low-nap fur.
We specialize in these premium mink furs, characterized by a low, short nap that feels velvety soft and stays especially warm.
Lynx is a luxuriously soft, highly dense fur, ensuring superior warmth and durability. It’s popular for its signature spots and color variations, as well as its resistance to shedding. When selecting our lynx pelts, we look for bluish white tones, which denote the higher quality fur along the underside, where the fur is denser and less spotted.
The most popular lynx fur is from the American bobcat, beloved for its signature spotted pattern, while the Canadian variety has denser fur and fewer spots. We source the majority of our lynx furs from North America, primarily in the regions surrounding Montana and Canada.
Chinchilla fur is renowned for its superior softness, thanks to the chinchilla’s high hair density, which is around 20,000 hairs per square centimeter. It is a fragile material that requires the extra care and attention of a master craftsman, making it a popular choice for smaller details like trim and accent pieces. Fur farming brought the chinchilla back from the brink of extinction in the 1920s, and they are now thriving worldwide, especially in Eastern Europe.
Sable is the most luxurious (and expensive) fur available. It feels velvety soft to the touch and is renowned for its lush, silver-tipped hairs that shimmer in the light. When selecting sable fur, quality can be measured by the number of silver hairs. The more silver you see, the higher the value.
Sourced from Barguzin, Russia, sable is highly coveted for its weightless, silky texture and rich, dark color. Evolved to survive the extreme conditions of its origins, the Barguzin sable fur is exceptionally dense and well-insulated, making it the world's most coveted and valuable fur.
Fox fur is a popular choice for its stunning color varieties, like silver fox, shadow fox, blue fox, red fox, kit fox, and Arctic fox. It’s a long-haired fur, and more durable than delicate options like chinchilla, though it does require regular cleaning by a furrier to keep the fur fluffy and the skin supple, and to keep shedding in check. Like chinchilla fur, fox fur is most often used for trim, but fox jackets and coats are making a resurgence amongst young people.
Lamb fur comes in a large variety of patterns and shades. Our most popular variety is Swakara, or Southwest African karakul lamb. This Persian lamb is known for its distinctive moiré pattern, sustainable farming, and durability, making it the perfect lighter-to-midweight coat. Other varieties of lamb and sheepskin fur include: Shearling, Broadtail, Mongolian, and Mouton.
